Kiss of Death by Malcolm Rose

I drifted in and out of KoD, so I did not read every single word… however, I have read 95% so this review is basically full, so yeah…

Kiss of Death is the story of Seth, Kim and Wes. They go on a school trip to Eyam, the ex-plague infested village (back in the Middle Ages that is! xD) of York. While Seth is moved by the amazing story of the plague, Kim and Wes are more interested in the well, and the money at the bottom of it! When Kim and Wes pick out a Middle Aged coin with plague bacteria on it, they discover they picked more than they bargained for.

It was really creepy! I loved reading it, and the beginning and end were the best, the middle was average… I still enjoyed it though! A very bemusing ending, and it kept me entertained and excited throughout all of it! I think that it could be a bit better, but it is good enough to go on my Book Blog!

The Lottery (unfinished!) by Beth Goobie

I am still reading The Lottery, and it’s very good, but I haven’t finished it yet… so… yeah. This review is my opinion BEFORE finishing the book.

I am actually enjoying it! It’s really interesting. It’s about this girl that goes to this American High School that is secretly governed by this evil team of students called the Shadow Council. Everyone in the school fears them; they can turn everyone and anyone against you. Once a year, they write the name of every student on some paper, and pick one name out of a coffin. This unfortunate person will be Shadow Council’s slave for a year. None of their friends will speak to them and nobody will even look at them.

Creepy, amirite? And the one girl who this story is about gets picked out of the coffin, and it’s about how she uncovers SC’s secret… or that’s what it says on the blurb. So far I’ve read up to the bit where she is entering the Shadow Council “den”. I think the author, Beth Goobie, is really good at describing what the girl (who I can’t remember the name of xD) is going through, and it makes you feel a bit scared too. I will see if the rest of the book is any good, but the beginning is very entertaining, and I hope the rest is of consistent quality!
